Position Summary:

The Home Loan Processor I role involves the critical task of managing, reviewing, and preparing necessary documentation for residential mortgage loans. This position ensures compliance with all credit union policies, regulatory requirements, and secondary market standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assess loan applications for precision, compliance, and completeness, ensuring adherence to regulatory and lending guidelines.
  2. Request appraisals, title commitments, income verifications, and other essential documentation.
  3. Maintain effective communication with borrowers, loan officers, realtors, and vendors to facilitate timely loan closings.
  4. Review and fulfill underwriting conditions and evaluate supporting documents for accuracy.
  5. Identify and investigate discrepancies in documentation to mitigate potential fraud risks.
  6. Prepare necessary disclosures and ensure they are delivered in accordance with regulatory standards.
  7. Coordinate the closing, recording, and funding processes with escrow services.
  8. Review signed documents for accuracy and completeness prior to loan disbursement.
  9. Manage post-closing tasks, including packaging and shipping loans to investors.
  10. Prioritize daily tasks to meet company deadlines and performance goals.
  11. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of credit union mortgage products.
  12. Adhere to risk management protocols and regulatory compliance in all duties.
  13. Participate in training sessions and maintain a strong attendance record.
  14. Exhibit professionalism and respect in all interactions, promoting a positive work environment.
  15. Safeguard sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
  16. Assist with additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent with relevant training and experience.
  2. Preferred experience in mortgage processing or related fields.
  3. Familiarity with automated underwriting systems and lending software.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  5. Valid Driver's License required; some travel may be necessary.
  6. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
