Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

Frontier Behavioral Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our inpatient team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to adults experiencing mental health disorders.

Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant will work under the guidance of the charge RN, providing direct supervision and interactions with clients. This includes taking vital signs, drawing labs, administering medication, and monitoring client activities and behaviors.

Responsibilities:
  • Take vital signs and perform basic lab procedures
  • Administer medications, including oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous injections
  • Monitor and supervise client activities and behaviors
  • Complete clear, objective clinical documentation
  • Accurately document medication administration
  • Provide feedback to RN regarding patient interactions and behaviors
  • Report suspected changes in patient condition or potential crisis situations
  • Adhere to and follow patient treatment plans
  • Provide verbal redirection and gradual guidance to patients
  • Remain alert and provide direct line of sight monitoring of patients
  • Engage patients in social conversation and provide supportive listening
  • Complete patient personal belongings inventory and assist with admissions
  • Attend/participate in required trainings, meetings, and supervision sessions
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Active Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified Credential
  • BLS certification or must obtain within 90 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a behavioral health setting
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats
  • Ability to communicate with individuals of various backgrounds, education levels, and socio-economic status
  • Basic computer skills, including ability to document in an electronic medical record and use electronic time tracking
Work Environment:

The Certified Medical Assistant will work in a residential setting, which may involve sitting and/or constant movement. May be required to lift 10-20 pounds. Blood-borne Pathogen Category I – Chance of blood-borne pathogen exposure.
