Job SummaryThe Product Quality Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our manufactured and purchased products and raw materials. This position involves developing and executing detailed testing protocols, identifying defects, and ensuring compliance with internal and external specifications. The Specialist will work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives based on testing results.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive product/material testing and inspections throughout various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with established quality standards and specifications.
- Develop, document, and implement detailed testing protocols and inspection procedures for new and existing products, ensuring robust quality control at every step of production.
- Perform mechanical, visual, dimensional, and functional tests on products using a range of testing equipment and methods.
- Analyze test results and inspection data to identify product defects, deviations from standards, and areas for improvement.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities for any identified quality issues.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to update product specifications, testing standards, and quality control plans based on testing outcomes and customer feedback.
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment regularly to ensure accuracy and reliability in measurement and testing.
- Train and mentor production staff on product testing techniques, quality standards, and inspection procedures.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits with a focus on product testing processes.
- Manage quality documentation related to testing and inspection.
- Serve as a point of contact for customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies regarding product testing and quality assurance issues.
- Associate degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in product testing and quality assurance/control within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards related to product testing.
- Experience with various testing methodologies, tools, and equipment.
- Proficient in statistical analysis and quality improvement tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy, precision, and consistency in product testing.
