Job Title: Senior Water Resources Engineer/Modeler

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Water Resources Engineer/Modeler to join our team at CDM Smith. As a key member of our water resources group, you will be responsible for performing complex calculations, modeling, data analysis, and design support for water distribution and related water resources projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic to high complexity calculations, modeling, data analysis, and design support for water distribution and related water resources projects.
  • Sign and seal plans and other work as necessary.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
  • Review the work of more junior staff.
  • Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs).
  • Review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations, and best practices.
  • Meet with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs.
  • Contribute to firm's technical knowledge management by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.
  • Submit technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Attend conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Coastal, or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional engineering (PE) license.
  • 10 years of related experience.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Water modeling and master planning experience using Bentley WaterGEMS.
  • Water modeling and master planning experience using Autodesk InfoWater.
  • Water master planning experience for mid-size to large water systems (100,000 population or more).
  • Water model calibration experience using fire flow tests.
  • Texas PE License.
