Job Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified professional to join our team as a Lecturer II or III in the Family and Child Studies Program at the University of New Mexico.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses in early childhood education, including pedagogy, methods, and curriculum development. The position requires a Master's degree in a related area or a terminal degree by appointment/or application date with specialization in Family & Child Studies, or related field.

Responsibilities
  • Teach four courses per semester, including undergraduate and graduate-level courses in early childhood education
  • Mentor and supervise students in teacher preparation programs
  • Partner with teachers and school administration
  • Develop and implement curriculum for early childhood education courses
  • Contribute to program activities, including accreditation, community outreach, and facilitating and maintaining program protocol
Requirements
  • Qualified professional with a Master's degree in a related area or a terminal degree by appointment/or application date
  • At least 1 year experience teaching and/or field supervision in early childhood or related area at the college or university undergraduate level
  • Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses in early childhood, including courses focused on pedagogy, methods, and curriculum development
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and supervise students in teacher preparation programs and partner with teachers and school administration
