Position:
Analytics Specialist

Compensation:
The annual salary range for this role in California is $105,000 to $115,000. The starting salary for the selected candidate will be influenced by various job-related factors, including geographic location, relevant knowledge, skills, experience, education, internal equity, market conditions, and organizational considerations.

We are looking for individuals with robust experience in advanced analytics to spearhead the implementation of data science and machine learning initiatives. The Analytics Specialist collaborates with designers and stakeholders to establish business objectives and formulates our strategy for advanced analytics. This role is responsible for managing data science solutions in production and facilitates communication with both technical and business stakeholders. The Analytics Specialist also prepares materials for new proposals and presentations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute statistical modeling and experimental design, validating predictive models
  • Create web prototypes and perform data visualization
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses from query development to data visualization and presentation
  • Engage in scalable data research both on-premises and in the cloud
  • Automate existing workflows to empower business units in conducting analyses
  • Design tailored algorithms to address analytical challenges with incomplete datasets and implement automated processes for efficient model production
  • Collaborate with database engineers and fellow scientists to enhance data management and analytics practices, systems, workflows, and standards
  • Implement new or improved software solutions for efficient data handling
  • Educate the data management team on updated procedures
  • Develop and enforce quality assurance protocols
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in data science or data analysis
  • 2+ years of experience in the Sports Industry
  • Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and Tableau
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with engineers and business stakeholders
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills; capable of defining and executing each phase of an advanced analytics project to meet stakeholder requirements
  • Experience mentoring others in technical skills and data science
  • Extensive technical knowledge in data science, data analysis, statistical modeling, and/or machine learning
  • Proficiency in Python data science and machine learning libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, Apache Spark, PySpark, DASK, Tensorflow) with experience in deploying and managing models in production
  • Academic qualifications in a relevant quantitative discipline, such as statistics, engineering, or computer science
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven track record of delivering business value in areas such as customer analytics, acquisition and retention strategies, pricing, marketing effectiveness, or strategic insights
  • Experience with ticketing data and Archtics
  • Familiarity with the product design process
  • Advanced degree (PhD/MSc) in a relevant field is highly desirable
