Maintenance Manager

Job Summary:

Starwest Botanicals, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of organic herbs, botanicals, spices, and teas. We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team in Sacramento, California. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing maintenance programs, equipment, and facilities to ensure optimal uptime and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Lead and train a team of maintenance technicians to ensure effective maintenance operations.
  • Oversee emergency breakdowns and troubleshooting of equipment to minimize production interruptions.
  • Plan and implement CAPEX projects to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing of parts and equipment.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers for equipment repairs, procurement of parts, and maintenance contracts.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work, including schedules, repairs, and inspections.
  • Prepare regular reports on performance, downtime, expenses, and safety.
  • Track key performance measures (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Participate in the S&OP process to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Work within federal, state, and local regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as production and quality, to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in food manufacturing is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, database management, spreadsheet creation, email, and internet.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to food manufacturing, warehousing, and GMPs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of hourly employees ranging from 5-8.
  • Provide constructive and timely feedback to improve performance.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of working on the production floor.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Compensation:

  • Salary range = $100,000 - $115,000 annually.
  • Full-time benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and 401k.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel between company facilities within the Sacramento, CA area is required.

Work Location:

  • This position requires the candidate to be on-site in Sacramento, CA daily.
  • Work from home or remote work is not available for this position.
