Job Title: Director of Administration

Job Summary

The Director of Administration will provide strategic leadership and oversight to our administrative functions, ensuring the effective management of our day-to-day operations. This role will work closely with our leadership team to develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems that support our mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the agency's finances in the denominational structure and governance structure.
  • Oversee internal accounting processes and procedures, as well as external financial reporting and registrations.
  • Manage the maintenance, upkeep, and security of the organization's assets.
  • Review financial reports and provide financial input to international ministry offices.
  • Develop and lead the annual budget process with senior leadership and create a capital budget for the agency.
  • Review financial information and adjust operational budgets as needed, aligning with the strategic plan.
  • Manage agency partnerships with other ministries and vendors nationally and internationally.
  • Ensure appropriate systems are in place for financial planning, monitoring, and control of agency finances.
  • Assist the Director in managing and developing ministries and projects, making operational decisions, and developing annual and long-term strategic plans.
  • Manage the assessment cycle of departments and ministries by evaluating the overall effectiveness of language ministries and North American departments; assess efficiency according to organizational objectives and apply improvements.
  • Manage the onsite studio, working with the Multimedia Producer to maintain the studio and develop necessary plans for equipment replacements and upgrades.
  • Ensure policies and procedures align with the overall policies and procedures of the denomination, working with Support Services departments to ensure staff compliance and continuously improve agency systems.
  • Support the advancement team by providing financial and general input in connecting advancement with the overall ministry.
  • Evaluate overall agency performance by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and metrics.
  • Review and sign vendor contracts on behalf of the agency.
  • Administer estate and trust distributions from first contact with executors, trustees, and law firms to final distributions.
  • Direct the agency in the director's absence.
Requirements
  • Able to support the mission, vision, and values of the CRCNA.
  • Financial accounting and systems management skills for bi-national reporting entities.
  • Practical general business management and operations knowledge.
  • Ability to effectively manage internal controls in a multi-faceted service environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Skilled at managing and prioritizing multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines efficiently.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and anti-racism work in a cross-cultural space.
  • Proficiency in accounting and database software.
  • Ability to travel within North America and internationally.
  • Familiarity with the work and ministries of the Christian Reformed Church through its agencies and institutions is a plus.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Masters Degree or equivalent licensure (CPA, CMA) preferred.
  • Significant experience at a senior financial management level is required.
Work Environment
