We are seeking a Retail Sales Associate to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve sales targets for our thrift store operations.This is a part-time role with an hourly wage of $14.49.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in retail or thrift environments is preferred but not essential
  • Familiarity with cash handling and cashier protocols is advantageous
  • Willingness to learn new techniques to enhance skills and efficiency
POSITION SCOPE:

As a member of the thrift store team, you will undertake various responsibilities under the guidance of the Store Manager and/or Supervisor. Your tasks may include:
receiving donations, sorting items, hanging clothing, pricing products, stocking the sales floor, arranging merchandise displays, operating the cash register, managing accurate financial transactions, processing credit card payments, and assisting customers with their purchases. Effective communication with staff, volunteers, and customers is essential, alongside maintaining a clean and organized store environment while providing excellent customer service. Adherence to uniform, break, and smoking policies is required.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities
  • Collaborative team player, working harmoniously with supervisors, staff, volunteers, and customers to achieve store objectives
  • Self-motivated with problem-solving abilities or the willingness to seek help when necessary
  • Proficient in English for both verbal and written communication
  • Effective time management skills
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with the public
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure
  • Customer service-oriented mindset
  • Solid understanding of cash management and cashier operations, including credit card transactions
  • General knowledge of business practices for safe and efficient operations
  • Commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to comprehend and generate written materials such as research and donation receipts
  • Must fulfill and comply with Protecting the Mission requirements, including passing a TSA background check
Additional duties may be assigned by the Store Manager or Store Supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
  • Capability to stand for extended periods on hard surfaces
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects, and reach overhead consistently
  • Capacity to lift 35 to 50 lbs repetitively
  • Ability to handle files and reach overhead for tasks such as stocking shelves
