EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

POSITION SCOPE:

As a member of the thrift store team, you will undertake various responsibilities under the guidance of the Store Manager or Supervisor. These tasks may include:
receiving and sorting donations, organizing merchandise, pricing items, stocking the sales floor, arranging displays, operating the cash register, handling transactions accurately, and assisting customers with their purchases. Effective communication with staff, volunteers, and customers is essential, along with maintaining a clean and organized store environment while providing excellent customer service. Adherence to uniform, break, and smoking policies is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities
  • Collaborative team player who works well with supervisors, staff, volunteers, and customers to achieve store objectives
  • Self-motivated with problem-solving skills or the ability to seek help when necessary
  • Proficient in English for both verbal and written communication
  • Good organizational skills to support effective time management
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with the public
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure
  • Customer service-oriented mindset
  • Strong understanding of cash handling and cashier procedures, including credit card transactions
  • General knowledge of business practices for safe and efficient operations
  • Commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to comprehend and produce written materials such as receipts and reports
  • Must comply with Protecting the Mission requirements and guidelines, including passing a TSA background check
All other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Supervisor are expected.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist regularly
  • Capability to stand for extended periods on hard surfaces
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing between 35 to 50 lbs
  • Ability to perform tasks such as stocking shelves and managing files
