Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general accounting and other related duties for the organization.
  • Inspect the budget and general ledger for assigned departments and accounts, ensuring that funds are available and expenditures are assigned correctly.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Review and maintain the general ledger.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Review and/or assist with preparation of financial statements and records provided to federal, state, and internal auditors and similar personnel.
  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Perform variance analysis on the income statement and balance sheet.
  • Prepare current fiscal year financial projections.
  • Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
  • Assist with purchasing and accounts payable, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting.
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Proficient with accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Work in a well-lit area with some foot traffic.

Leman Academy of Excellence offers a very competitive benefits package and overall compensation will be commensurate with talent, experience, and education. Compensation: $53,000 - $76,000. Leman Academy of Excellence is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
