Role Summary: The Hydraulic Solutions Product Manager plays a crucial role in driving the business success of a designated product family, which encompasses a specific range of SKUs tailored to the Hydraulic Hose market. Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive market research to understand supply chain requirements, competitor offerings, and customer preferences, while overseeing product strategy, pricing, and market positioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and uphold the Product-Market Strategy for the assigned product line, determining which SKUs or subfamilies to introduce or phase out, and present this strategy annually for executive approval.
  • Stay informed about industry trends relevant to the product line by engaging with trade publications, monitoring industry metrics, and participating in trade association events, establishing oneself as the primary resource for market knowledge within the organization.
  • Analyze sales performance, profitability, and market share estimates for the product line, maintaining a comparative analysis of successful and underperforming SKUs.
  • Develop and enhance marketing materials, including product brochures, catalog sections, sales training resources, and a marketing communications strategy for the targeted market segment.
  • Collaborate with Sales leadership to secure approval for marketing materials.
  • Co-manage the customer lifecycle strategy alongside the Sales team.
  • Guide and coordinate sales personnel efforts to achieve objectives while enhancing the organization’s competitive edge.
  • Establish and manage the pricing strategy for the product line, proposing list prices and assisting Sales in determining customer discount levels, while collaborating with Finance to develop product-line profitability models.
  • Work with Sales to compile and analyze forecasts for the product line, proposing inventory levels to Supply Chain and Operations while adhering to lead time and working capital constraints.
  • Support sales managers with technical product insights and participate in customer meetings as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to devise a vendor strategy, assist in vendor relations, and negotiate pricing.
  • Oversee quality standards as provided by Operations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management and market segment analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant experience and education.
  • A demonstrated passion and commitment to the served market segment.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), with a readiness to learn new software tools.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong relationship-building capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with robust organizational skills.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize various projects effectively.
  • Capable of collaborating with diverse individuals and personalities.
