Teaching and Leadership at KIPP
We believe that skilled, committed, and culturally competent educators can unlock our children's potential by crafting a school experience that recognizes, values, and challenges them daily. We strive to foster a professional atmosphere filled with joy, openness, care, and community, where exceptional educators can establish a long-term career. Educators at KIPP:

  • Access resources, workshops, and support networks that promote physical, emotional, and financial well-being.
  • Lead with empathy and transparency, taking responsibility for students' learning and development.
  • Continuously refine their teaching skills through personalized coaching and high-quality professional development.
  • Have opportunities for leadership development and career advancement.

  • Provide necessary accommodations and modifications to support all students' growth and success.
  • Keep accurate student records and maintain open communication with families regarding student progress.
  • Model and uphold all school policies within the classroom.
  • Serve as a positive role model for students.

  • Take responsibility for your professional development (meet regularly with an instructional coach, implement feedback, engage in practice, etc.).
  • Participate actively in all school-wide professional development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to address common challenges and implement grade-wide strategies.
  • Provide constructive, solutions-oriented feedback to peers and school leadership.
  • Embody KIPP's core values: Children First, Cultural Competence, Ownership, and Community.
  • Enroll in or complete a teacher certification program (if applicable).

School Responsibilities

  • Arrive at school by the designated time and remain until the end of the school day.
  • Attend school events outside of regular hours (e.g., Back to School Night, Report Card Conferences).
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of school-wide events.
  • Build strong relationships with students' families through various engagement activities.
  • Perform necessary support duties, including supervision during lunch and dismissal.
  • Chaperone field trips and other school activities.
  • Be open to additional responsibilities as they arise throughout the school year.
