About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Case Manager Advocate to join our team at the Children's Law Center of California. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth and families in need.

As a Case Manager Advocate, you will work collaboratively with clients, attorneys, peer advocates, mental health professionals, and other stakeholders to provide intensive case management services. Your primary responsibilities will include working with TAY (Transition Age Youth) and CSEC (Commercially Sexually Exploited Children) clients on a dependency caseload, visiting clients at their residences or other locations, and gathering information about client status, progress, and needs.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interviewing and client relationship building skills, a demonstrated commitment to providing client-centered advocacy, and the ability to demonstrate effective communication skills both orally and in written reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with TAY and CSEC clients on a dependency caseload
  • Visit clients at their residences or other locations to support attorney-client relationships
  • Gather information about client status, progress, and needs
  • Document physical or electronic files with case notes and reports
  • Communicate regularly with attorneys regarding case status
  • Assist with hearing preparation and provide technical and case support for peer advocates and attorneys
  • Communicate with outside service providers and county personnel regarding case status and client needs
Requirements
  • A valid California driver's license and reliable automobile
  • A degree in Social Work or a related field, or 60 college units in a related field, and/or 2 years direct experience working with children in a related field
  • Excellent interviewing and client relationship building skills and a demonstrated commitment to providing client-centered advocacy
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills both orally and in written reports
