We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist to join our team at bioMerieux Inc. as an Automation Engineer. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of Manufacturing and Packaging Automation Systems.
Key Responsibilities- Provide hands-on support for automation systems, diagnosing and resolving issues promptly.
- Act as a subject matter expert for process automation-related matters, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA Systems, and Vision Inspection Systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain system uptime and reliability.
- Implement planned modifications to existing systems, focusing on safety, product quality, and cost reduction.
- Maintenance and programming of Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and SLC PLCs.
- Develop Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk View ME HMIs and FactoryTalk View SE and Wonderware Intouch SCADA Systems.
- Create and/or revise Engineering lifecycle documents for new and existing automated manufacturing systems.
- Lead or participate in commissioning and qualification activities (e.g., SAT, IQ, OQ) and conduct verification activities as required by the site change control program.
- Apply good engineering practices, cGMP, and GAMP standards to ensure compliance.
- Contribute to small to medium-scale automation projects, from concept to implementation.
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience with computers and automation systems support in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience programming PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA Systems.
- 5+ years of experience working in a cGMP manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation or Siemens highly preferred.
- Experience with ControlLogix /CompactLogix PLC Hardware Platforms, RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000, and/or FactoryTalk View Studio highly preferred.
- Experience with Vision Systems is a plus.
- Experience with Drives/Motion (Kinetix drives, PowerFlex VFD drives, other drives etc.) is a plus.
- Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation experience preferred.
