Unit Manager/Director - RN Job Description

At Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center - Barre, VT, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Unit Manager/Director - RN to join our team. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care while achieving positive clinical outcomes and patient/resident, family, and employee satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct the overall operations, coordination, and direction of nursing and patient/resident care for an assigned nursing unit.
  • Ensure that patient/resident care delivery is consistent with the mission, vision, values, and policies of Genesis HealthCare and in accordance with accepted standards of practice, state and federal regulations, and licensing requirements.
  • Collaborate with staff, physicians, rehabilitation therapy, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients on assigned nursing units.
  • Manage human resources in assigned units, including limiting the use of overtime and agency personnel, recruiting and orienting staff, assessing work performance, and implementing disciplinary action when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, college, or university.
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing.
