Pasado's Safe Haven is seeking a dedicated full-time Veterinary Technician to take on the role of Sanctuary Clinic Manager. This position is crucial for overseeing the daily functions of our veterinary rehabilitation clinic located within our expansive animal sanctuary.
The Sanctuary Clinic Manager will be responsible for:
- Managing clinic operations, including daily schedules for general care, intakes, and surgeries, while ensuring adequate supplies and accurate medical records.
- Coordinating with outside veterinarians and specialists to ensure timely medical care for our animals.
- Providing essential medical care to a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and farmed species, under the supervision of licensed veterinarians.
- Conducting diagnostic procedures such as venipuncture, lab tests, and imaging, while maintaining laboratory equipment.
- Preparing surgical rooms and assisting in surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments are properly sterilized.
- Collaborating with finance and operations teams to maintain inventory controls for medications.
- Participating in the intake process for new animals and supporting adoption efforts with medical insights.
- Acting as a primary contact for medical emergencies and ensuring effective communication among staff.
- Attending relevant meetings to provide input on medical care and training for animal caregivers.
- Maintaining up-to-date standard operating procedures and recommending improvements as necessary.
- Building strong relationships with sanctuary staff, veterinarians, and vendors.
- Engaging in continuing education to enhance skills in animal medical treatment.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- Licensure as a Veterinary Technician.
- Experience in managing a veterinary clinic is highly preferred.
- Background in animal shelters or sanctuaries is advantageous.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Effective communication skills and a commitment to the organization's mission.
- Proficiency in utilizing various technology platforms.
