Responsibilities- Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients' speech and language abilities.
- Develop and implement personalized plans of care to improve patients' communication skills.
- Administer speech therapy programs using specialized techniques and equipment.
- Recommend communication devices and aids as necessary.
- Collaborate with referring physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Participate in case conferences, in-services, and other meetings to ensure coordinated care.
- Prepare and submit detailed notes according to organizational policies.
- Maintain clinical competency in speech-language pathology practice and theory.
- Identify patients' and families' needs for other services and refer as necessary.
- Instruct patients, families, and caregivers on treatment regimens as indicated.
- May supervise home health aides in procedures related to speech-language therapy plans of care.
- Master's or doctoral degree in speech-language pathology (SLP).
- Current licensure as a speech-language pathologist or successful completion of an approved national examination in SLP.
- Minimum one year of clinical experience in speech-language pathology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.
- Current CPR certification.
