Position Overview: Laboratory Research Analyst I

We are seeking a meticulous scientist to join our team as a Laboratory Research Analyst I at Duke Health. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and executing assays to assess antibody responses related to vaccination and infectious diseases of significant global concern. This position entails supporting the development, refinement, and standardization of laboratory techniques, as well as contributing to both pre-clinical and clinical trials for vaccines. Exceptional organizational abilities and communication skills, alongside a robust technical knowledge base, are vital for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting intricate binding assays to analyze antibody behavior
  • Creating, enhancing, and standardizing innovative assays and reagents
  • Handling human specimens in accordance with safety protocols
  • Assisting in data interpretation and record-keeping
  • Maintaining laboratory instruments and inventory
  • Keeping a comprehensive and organized laboratory notebook
  • Performing additional related tasks as required

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or a related discipline
  • A minimum of two years of pertinent bench research experience
  • Familiarity with binding antibody assays or immunoassays is preferred
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and possessing strong communication skills
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred

Minimum Requirements:
