Youth Behavioral Clinician

The Youth Behavioral Clinician is responsible for delivering direct therapeutic interventions and overseeing treatment for pre-adolescent and adolescent individuals exhibiting sexually abusive or non-abusive sexually problematic behaviors, as well as other non-sexual behavioral issues.
This role encompasses individual, group, and family therapy, with a specialized emphasis on addressing sexually abusive or troubled behaviors, alongside the management of non-sexual behavioral disorders.
The clinician collaborates within a residential treatment team, contributing to a comprehensive treatment strategy that integrates direct therapeutic efforts with residential care.
Clinicians are expected to be available for one evening each week to provide direct or indirect therapeutic services or staff consultation, as determined by the Unit Director.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of children and adolescents, including psychosocial histories and risk assessments for re-offense or ongoing challenges, particularly focusing on sexual risk factors for those with histories of problematic sexual behavior.
Deliver individual, group, and family therapy, emphasizing treatment specifically tailored for juveniles with histories of sexually abusive or troubled behaviors.
Design and implement psychoeducational and cognitive-behavioral materials and curricula in therapy, including workbooks, relapse prevention strategies, cognitive distortions, and dysfunctional behavioral patterns.
Identify and evaluate psychiatric and/or behavioral co-occurring conditions, such as mood disorders, behavioral issues, thought disorders, and substance abuse problems. Provide and oversee treatment for these co-occurring conditions.
Prepare comprehensive reports, document progress notes, and maintain accurate treatment records.
Qualifications
A Doctorate or Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling psychology, psychiatric nursing, or a related field with advanced training in therapeutic practices.
Must be license eligible.
Prior experience working with youth exhibiting sexually abusive behaviors and/or non-sexually troubled juveniles is essential.
