About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at HCA Houston Healthcare West. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program required.
  • Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the state of Texas is required.
  • 1 year of experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • Current BLS Certification is required.
  • ACLS, PALS, and NRP are preferred.
