Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Albany Medical Center seeks an experienced Registered Professional Nurse to join our dynamic Colorectal Surgery and Urology team. As a Clinical Nurse II, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced post-surgical setting.
Salary: $34.65 - $35.69 per hour
This position requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care. Your expertise will be crucial in assessing, coordinating, planning, directing, implementing, and managing patient needs throughout their episode of care.
About the Role:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a professional academic nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree conferred.
- Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license.
- Obtains and maintains certification in BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical nursing experience in an Emergency Department, preferably in a large academic, Level 1 Trauma Center, and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
- Ability to improve job performance through continuing education.
- Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.
