Position Overview


As an Anesthesia Supply Specialist, you will be responsible for the preparation, operation, maintenance, and replenishment of anesthesia equipment and supplies. Your role will involve assisting nurse anesthetists and anesthesiologists in patient care and procedural setups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup for both urgent and routine medical procedures, including complex surgeries.
  • Prepare and manage equipment necessary for the safe transport of critically ill patients.
  • Support the lifting and positioning of patients as required.
  • Collaborate with anesthetists during the anesthesia induction process.
  • Order and retrieve local anesthetics and inhalation agents from the pharmacy.
  • Maintain and stock anesthesia carts with essential medications.
  • Possess knowledge of both generic and brand names of pharmaceuticals utilized within the department.
  • Compile and submit a monthly supply requisition list as directed.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of all assigned work areas on a daily basis.
  • Conduct decontamination procedures as necessary.
  • Manage the stocking, cleaning, and replacement of anesthesia equipment and supplies.
  • Set up specialized monitoring lines for surgical procedures.
  • Operate advanced infusion pumps and perform routine maintenance on anesthesia machinery.
  • Conduct regular checks and maintenance on equipment, including pacemakers.
  • Engage in laboratory procedures related to sample handling and preparation.

Work is primarily conducted in a clinical setting, and you will be expected to meet all job-specific responsibilities while adhering to organizational policies and procedures. This role requires a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience is required.
  • Basic Life Support Certification is mandatory.
