Position Summary:

We are currently in search of a Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic food retail company. Reporting directly to the Fleet Manager, the Logistics Coordinator will oversee the daily operations of our over-the-road logistics, which includes managing drivers, road tractors, day-cab, and box trucks. This role will also involve conducting analyses and generating reports aimed at enhancing safety, optimizing routing, and ensuring timely performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the assignment of freight to inbound purchase orders while addressing and resolving issues between procurement and warehousing.
  • Analyze Hours of Service to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Coordinate activities among various team entities, addressing short pays and overdue payments.
  • Manage the procurement of third-party backhauls and ensure accurate billing.
  • Oversee fleet support activities, including service and maintenance.
  • Maintain appointment portals to align pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Supervise driver activities during transit.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the fleet manager.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management within perishable goods.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Excel.
  • Familiarity with D365 or other ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities; excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience negotiating brokered third-party loads.
  • Knowledge of freight boards (DAT) and truck stops.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-stress team environment with skills in de-escalation.
