We are seeking a skilled Instructional Designer to join our Digital Learning team at American University. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing high-quality digital learning experiences for our faculty and students.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with faculty to design and develop online, hybrid, and hyflex courses that meet the needs of our diverse student population.
- Provide one-on-one consultations and group workshops to support faculty in all aspects of teaching, including syllabus development, assessment alignment, and technology integration.
- Stay current with recent research, trends, and advancements in pedagogy, educational technologies, and other issues related to online/hybrid course design and implementation.
- Recommend and implement current strategies and technologies related to online/hybrid delivery, and maintain functional competency with media design and creation skills, LMS tools, and associated educational technologies.
- A solid understanding of instructional theory and the ability to identify and test existing and emerging technologies to meet learning objectives.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to faculty and other stakeholders.
- Experience with learning management systems, educational technologies, and media design and creation skills.
