Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant Lead to join our Perioperative team at UCHealth. As a Medical Assistant Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Perioperative department, providing exceptional patient care, and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide top-notch patient care in the Perioperative setting, utilizing the nursing process to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve exceptional patient care and outcomes.
  • Prioritize patient wellness, safety, and quality care, adhering to evidence-based practices.
  • Model proficiency through precepting new staff members and contributing to the development of our team.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest knowledge and innovations in the field, embracing a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Contribute to a safe and quality-focused environment at the point of care.
Perioperative Focus
  • Direct patient care will include practice in Perioperative, PACU, or Operating Room levels of care.
  • AORN and ABPANC core curriculum and certification standards will be incorporated into evidence-based care models.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing-approved Registered/Professional Nursing program (if less than 3 years' experience). Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • 6 months of RN experience or completion of the UCHealth Fellowship program.
  • ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.
  • BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
