Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vocational Support Specialist to join our team at Work Services. The successful candidate will provide person-centered case management services to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide case management services to individuals with disabilities, including developing and implementing individualized goal plans.
  • Maintain confidential information and provide support to employees regarding their vocational goals and needs.
  • Make recommendations for needed interventions to promote vocational success and work with employees to identify strategies and assistive technology solutions.
  • Provide one-on-one meetings and job coaching to assist employees in reaching employment and personal development goals.
  • Communicate with community agencies and provide information about community resources to enhance support services for employees.
  • Perform recruiting at local agencies and complete on-boarding roles, including training.
  • Work with an interdepartmental team to monitor employee progress and enhance the quality of services provided.
Requirements
  • Associate degree with major course work in psychology, sociology, social work, or a related field.
  • One year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with major course work in psychology, sociology, social work, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of community services and programs to which employees may be referred.
Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment and requires occasional travel to satellite locations and overnight stays for conferences.

Physical Demands

The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, stoop, and kneel, and must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area travel to satellite locations and overnight stays for conferences may be expected.
