Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse III to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide advanced care to individuals with complex medical, mental health, and/or behavioral health issues.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform advanced vocational nursing work, providing care, treatment, and general welfare to individuals residing at the State Hospital.
Collect specimens for lab work and perform health screenings.
Instruct direct support professionals and other staff on how to provide service and care that support the individual's medical needs.
Perform technical nursing procedures according to facility and state regulations.
Provide direction and assists with on-the-job training to others such as newly hired LVNs and direct care staff.
Evaluate nursing intervention outcomes and provides input to other members of the healthcare team.

Requirements:
Must have a strong knowledge of nursing care standards, nursing procedures, and techniques.
Must be able to assess and care for patients and/or staff members in emergency situations.
Must have the ability to organize, coordinate, and evaluate nursing activities and delivery of health services.
Must be able to communicate effectively and to instruct others.
