Job Overview

Position: Speech-Language Pathologist

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Media, Pennsylvania

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to provide exceptional speech and language therapy services. The ideal candidate will work closely with students, educators, and families to foster communication skills and support educational achievement.

Key Duties:
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify students with speech and language challenges.
  • Design and execute tailored Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to address specific student needs.
  • Deliver direct therapeutic interventions for students experiencing speech, language, and communication difficulties.
  • Collaborate with educational staff, parents, and other specialists to ensure student progress.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of student evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports.
  • Engage in IEP meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide guidance and training to school personnel and families on speech and language development strategies.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Current Pennsylvania state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education certification as an Educational Specialist in Speech and Language Pathology.
  • Preferred experience in an educational environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Licensure and Certifications:
  • Pennsylvania Speech-Language Pathologist License
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification as an Educational Specialist in Speech and Language Pathology
  • Successful completion of relevant Praxis exams (if required by the state)
Physical Requirements:
  • Capability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, sitting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Aptitude to meet the physical demands associated with working with young children and students with special needs.
