Key Responsibilities- Comprehensive Evaluations: Conduct thorough assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
- Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Develop and implement tailored IEPs to meet each student's unique needs.
- Direct Therapy: Provide high-quality therapy to students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress and success.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of student assessments, progress, and therapy sessions.
- Professional Development: Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development activities to stay up-to-date on best practices.
- Consultation and Training: Offer consultation and training to school staff and parents on speech and language development and intervention strategies.
- Masters Degree: Possess a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence: Hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- State License: Possess a valid Pennsylvania state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification: Hold certification as an Educational Specialist Speech and Language Pathologist from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
- Experience: Preferably 1+ years of experience in a school setting, but not required.
- Skills: Possess strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Pennsylvania Speech-Language Pathologist License
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
- Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification as an Educational Specialist Speech and Language Pathologist
- Passing Scores on Relevant Praxis Exams
- Lifting and Mobility: Ability to perform job duties that may include lifting, bending, sitting, and standing for prolonged periods.
- Physical Demands: Ability to manage the physical demands of working with young children and students with special needs.
