Position Summary

As a Lead HVAC Installer, you will take charge of your installation team. After receiving guidance from our Installation Manager, you will be responsible for directing your crew and ensuring a high-quality installation process. You will actively participate in the installation of various HVAC and refrigeration systems, ensuring that all work is performed safely, correctly, and in accordance with the high standards of Champion & Nash HVAC, while also providing outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for residential clients.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues with electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of HVAC systems.
  • Manage inventory, tools, and safety equipment within the service vehicle.
  • Provide mentorship and training to apprentices, fostering their development.
  • Identify service problems, procure necessary replacement parts, and calibrate systems according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills while addressing technical, logistical, and scheduling concerns.
  • Deliver quality workmanship with integrity and adhere to company policies and values.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of field experience, seeking opportunities for growth and support.
  • A commitment to completing tasks accurately on the first attempt.
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to convey basic maintenance advice to clients.
  • A passion for training and guiding apprentices.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
  • Proficient with technology, including tablets and work-related software.
  • Experience in preparing estimates for repairs and installations of HVAC systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret blueprints and manuals.
  • Proven experience in installing and servicing HVAC systems in both residential and commercial settings.
  • Willingness to work weekends or on-call shifts as required.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Safety is the top priority; knowledge of safe working practices and OSHA regulations is essential.
  • Regular tasks include sitting, standing, walking, stooping, and using hands for controls; effective communication is necessary.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work in varying temperatures, and navigate small spaces is required.
  • Regular lifting and moving of items over 50 lbs is necessary.
  • Work conditions may vary with the seasons, requiring outdoor work throughout the year.
