Job Summary

Lone Star College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Developmental English courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging lessons, evaluating student progress, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

This is a part-time, semester-by-semester position. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to academic excellence, exceptional service, and providing a dynamic climate for life-long learning.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach at a variety of times and locations, including day, evening, and weekend classes. Instructors are required to meet with classes at all scheduled times and be available to students outside of class instruction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Developmental English courses at a variety of times and locations
  • Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
  • Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform students in a timely manner of their progress
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required
Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a major or minor in English, literature, creative writing, or a related field
  • Master's degree in English, literature, creative writing, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree with related teaching or training experience in one or more of the above-mentioned fields
