Lone Star College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach English courses at various times and locations. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in English, literature, creative writing, or a related field, and a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging lessons, evaluating student progress, and maintaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community. They will also be expected to attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
This is a part-time, adjunct position, contingent upon student demand. The work schedule will vary depending on class time, and instructors are required to meet with classes at all scheduled times and be available to students outside of class instruction.
The successful candidate will be a team player who is passionate about teaching and learning, and who is committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English courses at a variety of times and locations
- Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
- Evaluate student progress and inform students in a timely manner
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
- Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required
Requirements:
- Master's degree in English, literature, creative writing, or a related field
- Strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints and work effectively with a wide variety of people
