Job Summary

Lone Star College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Anatomy and Physiology courses at various times and locations. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree or higher in theoretical or applied biology or life sciences, or a related field, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging lessons, submitting required college reports, and utilizing a course syllabus. They will also meet with students, evaluate their progress, and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and the community.

This is a part-time position, with a maximum of five classes per academic year. The work schedule will vary depending on class time, and instructors are required to meet with classes at all scheduled times and be available to students outside of class instruction.

The salary for this position is $53.82 per contact hour, and benefits include tuition waiver, participation in a tax-deferred retirement plan, and professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities

The Adjunct Faculty member will be responsible for:

  1. Teaching Anatomy and Physiology courses at various times and locations
  2. Creating engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
  3. Submitting required college reports and forms in a timely manner
  4. Utilizing a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
  5. Meeting with and advising students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods
  6. Evaluating students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and informing students in a timely manner of their progress
  7. Maintaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
  8. Attending meetings, trainings, and orientations as required
  9. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

Working Conditions

The work is sedentary, with some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, or driving an automobile. The work environment is climate-controlled, with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
