Role Summary:
The Desktop Technician III is responsible for the management and support of diverse hardware systems, including laptops, desktops, network and server equipment, mobile devices, printers, scanners, and related peripherals. This role involves working with multiple operating systems, primarily Windows 10 and iOS, along with specialized software applications such as GIS and AutoCAD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support a wide range of hardware, including laptops, desktops, network and server equipment, tablets, and mobile devices, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Implement approved patches, upgrades, and enhancements to maintain system integrity.
  • Conduct systems management and monitoring to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Oversee security and administrative controls for services and systems.
  • Monitor server applications for performance, availability, and technical issues.
  • Assist in customer configuration management procedures.
  • Track and manage all upgrades and enhancements effectively.
  • Provide end-user support, ensuring all issues and requests are logged and resolved through the client’s ticketing system.
  • Analyze server applications, system logs, and software logs for errors and alerts.
  • Mentor junior Desktop Technicians, providing guidance and support.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for various processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to pass a background check for a Public Trust and additional checks as required.
  • Associates Degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of technical experience in supporting desktop and mobile devices, printers, scanners, local area networks, and servers.
  • Experience in installing and troubleshooting hardware and software, with proficiency in Microsoft operating systems.
  • Familiarity with general office software, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365.
  • Capability to support specialized software such as GIS and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a general office environment and sitting for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including holidays, and travel for professional development.
