Position Overview:
Cayuse Shared Services is a certified technology and government solutions provider dedicated to delivering innovative services and excellence across various sectors, focusing on minimizing risks while ensuring quality outcomes.
The Senior Desktop Support Specialist will oversee and provide assistance for a diverse range of hardware, including laptops, desktops, network and server equipment, mobile devices, printers, scanners, and associated peripherals. This role will involve working with multiple operating systems, primarily Windows 10 and iOS, as well as various software applications, including specialized tools such as GIS and AutoCAD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support a wide array of hardware, including laptops, desktops, network and server equipment, tablets, and mobile devices along with their peripherals.
- Implement patches, upgrades, and enhancements as approved by the client.
- Conduct systems management and monitoring to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain security and administrative control over services and systems.
- Monitor server applications for availability, latency, and technical issues.
- Assist in customer configuration management procedures.
- Oversee all upgrades and enhancements.
- Provide support to end-users, ensuring all issues and requests are logged and resolved within the client’s ticketing system.
- Review server applications, system logs, and software logs for errors and alerts.
- Mentor and assist junior Desktop Technicians.
- Create and maintain documentation for various processes, procedures, and systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must successfully pass a background check for a Public Trust, with potential for additional checks as required by specific projects or clients.
- Associate's Degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of technical experience in supporting desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers, scanners, local area networks, servers, and network switches.
- Experience should include installing and troubleshooting both hardware and software, with proficiency in Microsoft operating systems.
- Familiarity with general office software such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365.
- Ability to support specialized software like GIS and AutoCAD, or similar business applications.
- Capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable in a general office environment and able to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, which may include holidays.
- Potential travel for business or professional development may be required.
- May need to work outside of standard business hours.
