Position Summary: The primary objective of this role is to identify and engage potential clients, including individuals and enterprises, seeking commercial, real estate, and consumer financing solutions. This position involves assessing the borrowing requirements of Bank customers and prospects, validating applications to ascertain creditworthiness, and managing a loan portfolio that aligns with customer needs while ensuring profitability for the Bank. Additionally, the role includes referring new deposit and treasury relationships for clients and employing proactive sales strategies to encourage potential customers to partner with the Bank.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct interviews with current and prospective clients, analyzing financial data to formulate strategies that meet client objectives.
  2. Actively engage in the Bank's Business Development Program.
  3. Assess credit risk associated with commercial and consumer loan applications, crafting suitable loan structures within the Bank's lending parameters and in accordance with established policies.
  4. Oversee and manage a loan portfolio to ensure growth, while monitoring delinquency in line with the Bank's guidelines.
  5. Deliver exceptional customer service through proactive communication with both external and internal stakeholders to achieve overarching Bank goals.
  6. Participate in community service initiatives, focusing on supporting underserved market segments.
  7. Provide service to existing loan customers and review documentation to ensure adherence to Bank policies.
  8. Promote additional Bank services to current and prospective clients.
  9. Refer clients to appropriate personnel for specialized assistance.
  10. Prepare correspondence for credit approvals.
  11. Contribute to Internal Loan Committees and other assigned committees.
  12. Monitor collateral and exceptions within the officer's portfolio.
  13. Stay informed about lending regulations and recommend adjustments that may influence credit decisions.
  14. Draft credit memorandums for loan proposals.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements: A High School diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree and advanced banking education are preferred. A solid understanding of finance, accounting, and economics is essential, typically acquired through a four-year college program and ongoing education in these fields or equivalent work experience. Comprehensive knowledge of credit analysis and lending practices is necessary, along with an understanding of the laws, rules, and regulations governing the banking and lending industry, typically gained through 5 to 10 years of experience in banking or a related field. A valid Driver's License is required. Proficiency in finance and accounting principles is crucial for providing lending services.

Specific Skills Required: Effective communication skills with both internal and external parties are essential. A background in customer service and sales is advantageous. The ability to meet deadlines, identify and resolve issues, and possess basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, is necessary. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks are required. The candidate must handle confidential information responsibly and represent the company positively.

Equipment Used: Office equipment, including computers, multi-line phone systems, multi-function units, and imaging scanners.

Working Conditions: The role is performed in an office environment, requiring prolonged sitting (90%) and occasional physical exertion (less than 10% of the time) to move, lift, carry, or push objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Constant and repetitive use of arms and hands below shoulder level for computer tasks is necessary. This position entails normal office activities, including lifting, filing, and operating office equipment. Travel to various locations may be required.
