Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Ryder in Richmond, VA. As a Senior Level Technician, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer tools
  • Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks and interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Three years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
