Job Title: Diesel Mechanic/Technician

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our team at Ryder in Richmond, VA. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems
  • Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly pay: $29.00 per hour
  • Average weekly pay: $1080
  • Sign-on bonus: Ryder pays $1500 at 30 days and $1500 at 90 days
  • Quarterly bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every
  • Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and other benefits start at 30 days
