Position Summary:

The Lead Analyst for Real Estate Strategy and Insights plays a pivotal role in spearheading analytics and reporting initiatives. This includes overseeing project financials, timelines, long-term strategies, and essential metrics to provide actionable insights across the Real Estate division and teams involved in the lifecycle management of Wawa locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide the development and leadership of the analytics team to deliver comprehensive dashboards and reporting capabilities for Real Estate, utilizing Tango and related tools to ensure standardized reports are created, refined, and accessible for operational insights across all relevant stakeholders, including Finance, Accounting, Legal, Store Operations, Store Strategy, and Marketing.
  • Enhance team capabilities by training members to elevate analytical and data competencies within the Real Estate Analytics team and associated cross-functional teams involved with Tango and the lifecycle of Wawa stores.
  • Facilitate informed decision-making across cross-functional teams and senior management by providing operational analytics recommendations and leading implementation efforts as necessary.
  • Oversee project management for assigned analysis projects, ensuring design, scheduling, construction, and implementation of recommendations are executed effectively across the Real Estate Analytics team and additional stakeholders.
  • Support the team in clearly documenting deliverables, requirements, business needs, actions, issues, risks, and decisions necessary for analytic projects.
  • Lead operational support for cross-functional analytical projects, reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc analyses, assessing business value and effort related to all open requests for prioritization.
  • Collaborate with the Planning and Analysis team on larger enterprise analytical projects.
  • Manage real estate analytics in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, including Tango Analytics, to enhance and advance analytics capabilities within Tango, incorporating knowledge of spatial analysis through GIS tools.
  • Develop and refine key metrics across Real Estate and associated departments to deliver significant business insights, providing status updates and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Identify, address, and communicate any issues related to standard reports and analytics, including the administration of dashboard and report configurations and schedules.
  • Lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of new reports and dashboards for various stakeholder groups and project teams.
  • Establish reporting capabilities with expert knowledge of data warehouse and database structures, utilizing tools such as Oracle Visualizer, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Microsoft Access, and Excel.
  • In collaboration with the Planning and Analysis team, manage analyses for capital project financials across departments, providing project and program managers with insights necessary to understand budgets, forecasts, pro forma, and costs against project timelines.
  • Work with the Planning and Analysis team on the annual refresh of the Tango Analytics forecast model through testing and change management activities.
  • Build relationships and establish a communication plan across various internal departments and external resources, presenting updates in team meetings and assisting with follow-up as required.
  • Contribute to ongoing learning sessions and documentation processes to enhance the execution and utilization of Tango, particularly around reporting and analytics through activities such as training sessions, user guides, and informational meetings.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives.
  • Proactive self-starter with demonstrated initiative, capable of making decisions, completing projects, seeking information, and providing solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proven ability to achieve results through collaborative work with solid leadership skills.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant business discipline or financial/quantitative concentration preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant analytical experience in a complex business environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in report development using BI & Visualization tools such as Oracle Visualizer (preferred), Tableau, MicroStrategy.
  • Expertise in database and data warehouse structures and SQL.
  • Knowledge of capital project financial management (SAP preferred).
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Visio, Excel (advanced), and PowerPoint).
