  • Oversee the staffing of driving trainers and coordinate onboarding processes.
  • Assist locations in implementing corrective actions following safety incidents and review disciplinary measures with HR.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations across multiple locations.
  • Prepare and present monthly safety performance reports, highlighting trends and necessary corrective actions.
  • Utilize various tools to assess safety performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new safety managers.
  • Provide training to new managers and develop their competencies in safety management.
  • Ensure operational efficiency by leveraging safety management systems and databases.
  • Conduct annual safety wellness checks and more frequent inspections at high-risk locations.
  • Support driver recruitment and retention efforts in collaboration with HR.
  • Conduct safety audits and ensure the closure of safety review actions.
  • Manage the BeSafe program, including training delivery and coach onboarding.
  • Coordinate with management on the execution of safety initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance to safety managers as needed.
  • Verify compliance with training standards and conduct quality assurance audits.
  • Facilitate kickoff and safety meetings with location staff.
  • Offer startup support as required.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Preferred education includes two years of college or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant safety certifications such as OSHA 10-hour.

Experience and Skills

  • A minimum of seven years in safety or transportation roles.
  • Five years of experience in fleet management.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Proven leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with payroll systems.
  • Advanced technology skills related to operational management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Experience in training and coaching staff.
  • Certification in collision investigation.
  • State or provincial instructor certification in relevant areas.
  • Certified in defensive driving instruction.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to navigate the office environment and utilize standard office equipment.
