Commercial Portfolio Manager



Central Bank seeks a seasoned Commercial Portfolio Manager to join our team. As a Commercial Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing a commercial loan portfolio, making sales calls, and ensuring overall profitability and quality of the loan portfolio. Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and location.



Job Description

Key Responsibilities:





  • Interviews loan applicants to develop information concerning their businesses, needs, desires, abilities, and earnings to determine whether a loan may be an acceptable risk.

  • Evaluates the financial condition of the client, the value of pledged collateral, and the client's management effectiveness and competency.

  • Makes decisions on loans and terms within your lending limits and confers with Department Manager, Chief Credit Officer, or Senior Loan Committee for approval on loans exceeding established limits.

  • Ensures optimum profitability balanced with acceptable risk and monitors the quality of existing accounts by verifying assigned accounts conform to contract and policy limits.

  • Completes necessary documentation and requests additional data as needed and recognizes unfavorable trends and recommends corrective action.

  • Confers with the appropriate officer(s) on difficult or sensitive issues and ensures thorough knowledge and understanding of compliance and regulatory issues relating to loan policy and procedures (CRA, Fair Lending, etc.) with appropriate application of regulations in day-to-day operations.



Requirements

To be successful as a Commercial Portfolio Manager, you will need:





  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience providing required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Three or more years of commercial lending credit experience with detailed knowledge of current bank lending procedures and policies, lending regulations (state and federal), and loan documentation.

  • Strong ability to analyze financial statements and loan risk and good judgment to make critical decisions independently, research and solve problems, work independently, handle confidential information, and manage multiple tasks.

  • Thorough knowledge of bank products and services and demonstrated skill in soliciting business for bank deposit products and loan services. Ability to identify client needs, present banking solutions, and bank products. Ability to recognize closing opportunities and retain and grow customer relationships.

  • Excellent verbal, listening, and communication skills and strong customer relations skills and ability to work with employees and customers in a cooperative manner.

  • Ability and desire to work as part of a team and with people of diverse backgrounds, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. Ability and desire to represent Central Bank in the community.
