Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Clean Harbors. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive safety and health direction and support to our operations, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for our employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Design, implement, and maintain effective safety programs to prevent injuries and illnesses, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Safety Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Provide Training and Guidance: Provide training and guidance to employees on safety procedures, protocols, and best practices.
  • Manage Safety Equipment and Supplies: Oversee the maintenance and replacement of safety equipment and supplies, ensuring that they are in good working condition.
  • Investigate Incidents and Accidents: Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop and Maintain Safety Policies and Procedures: Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures, ensuring that they are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and engineering, to ensure that safety is integrated into all aspects of our business.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Regulatory Requirements: Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, ensuring that our safety programs and procedures are compliant and effective.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a health and safety role, with a strong background in safety program development and implementation.
  • Certifications: Certification as an Industrial Hygienist or Safety Professional, or ability to obtain.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent travel to job sites and ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
