About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our Intelligent Business Growth team at Sam's Club. As a key member of our team, you will design, code, and deploy AI-powered data decision platforms, ensuring scalability and performance through advanced technical solutions and robust system architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop technical solutions using BDD/TDD practices and agile testing frameworks.
  • Participate in code and design reviews to ensure adherence to high development standards.
  • Develop system architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance as you build REST APIs, microservices, and data flows.
  • Create data models in SQL (MS SQL) and NoSQL (Cassandra, Graph DB), and develop solutions, frameworks, and tools for Sam's Club AI Labs.
  • Architect and design solutions to eliminate performance bottlenecks and increase automation efficiency.
  • Build tools and portals leveraging your full-stack knowledge.
  • Develop proof of concepts, prototypes, and experiments.
  • Manage operations, monitoring, and maintenance of hosted services, products, reports, and analytics to ensure top-notch customer experiences.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of strong programming skills in Java/Python for building services, and SQL/No-SQL.
  • 5+ years' experience in software design and programming languages, such as Java, Python (using Flask/FastAPI), and JavaScript.
  • 5+ years' experience with software build management tools like Maven, Gradle, or similar.
  • 5+ years' experience with software testing, performance, and quality engineering techniques and strategies.
  • 4+ years' experience in cloud technologies such as Azure or GCP.
  • 3+ years' experience in HTML, CSS, and frontend/web development.
