Avantor is seeking a skilled and committed Asset Reliability Specialist to enhance our NuSil team, driving outcomes for intricate business and technological projects.

This full-time role will focus on ensuring the dependability and upkeep of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, and controls through effective loss reduction and risk management strategies.

This group is instrumental in supporting the innovation and expansion goals of key industries worldwide by facilitating the integration of advanced technological solutions into their operations.

Candidate Profile:

Educational Background:
Robust mechanical and electrical expertise
Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years in asset reliability engineering
Key Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience in processes related to reliability engineering.

Proficiency in various aspects of maintenance and reliability, material management, planning and scheduling, and optimization of CMMS / EAM / ERP systems.

Demonstrated effective communication skills and familiarity with productivity tools for office and reliability tasks.

Comprehensive understanding of the RCM process, including failure mode identification, defect analysis, cause and effect analysis, loss reduction, and assessment of failure probabilities and consequences; along with the application of sFMEA, RCFA decision logic, and development of tasks to address identified failures.

Knowledge of generic problem-solving techniques, particularly the RCA process, is essential.
Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge is required.
Familiarity with equipment assembly, installation, and repair is necessary.
Understanding of Asset Management, its components, and organization is important.
Knowledge of condition monitoring principles, tools, and applications is essential.

A minimum of one reliability certification (CMRP, CRL, etc.) is required, along with a commitment to ongoing education and certification in reliability and predictive technologies.

Ability to communicate and instruct on reliability best practices, condition monitoring, and precision methodologies.
Impact and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Project Management to guarantee the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.
Assist in formulating design and installation specifications and commissioning plans. Aid in establishing criteria for evaluating equipment and technical MRO suppliers and maintenance service providers. Develop acceptance tests and inspection criteria.
Engage in pre-startup safety reviews of new installations.
Participate in factory and site acceptance testing to ensure compliance with functional specifications.

Define, design, develop, monitor, and refine an asset maintenance strategy that includes both (a) value-added preventive maintenance tasks and (b) predictive and other non-destructive testing methods aimed at identifying and isolating inherent reliability issues.

Propose or recommend engineering solutions to recurring failures and other challenges that negatively impact plant operations.
Utilize appropriate data analysis techniques to fulfill the above responsibilities.

Potential Techniques May Include:
Statistical process control
Reliability modeling and prediction
Fault tree analysis
Weibull analysis
Six Sigma methodology
Root cause analysis (RCA) and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
Failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action system (FRACAS)

Generate Reliability Improvement Process (RIP) reports on critical asset failures.
Collaborate with Operations to assess asset characteristics, including: asset availability
overall equipment effectiveness
remaining useful life
and other parameters defining asset operating conditions, reliability, and costs.

Provide technical support to Operations, Maintenance management, and technical personnel.
Conduct value analysis for repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy decisions.
