Job Overview

The Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for protecting the digital infrastructure of Latino Credit Union (LCCU) from cyber threats. This role is essential in maintaining the security and integrity of LCCU's digital resources, ensuring the confidentiality and trustworthiness of sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate security incidents related to LCCU's core banking systems and networks.
  • Enhance network defense by identifying and implementing security initiatives and programs.
  • Detect potential threats and vulnerabilities, responding swiftly to minimize impact.
  • Conduct forensic investigations to ascertain the root causes of security incidents.
  • Plan and execute regular risk assessments to identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities within LCCU's infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant cybersecurity frameworks, including the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Collaborate with auditors to address any identified security gaps.
  • Assist in the formulation of incident response plans tailored to LCCU's systems.
  • Evaluate the security architecture of core banking applications, including network infrastructure and access controls.
  • Review and recommend enhancements to security measures such as intrusion detection systems and encryption protocols.
  • Support cybersecurity training initiatives for employees, promoting awareness of security best practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of security protocols and provide regular updates on security metrics to management.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats and trends, making proactive recommendations to mitigate risks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in complex IT environments.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Information Technology, preferably within the financial sector.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with security administration in a multi-site environment.
  • Experience with security technologies, including EPP/EDR and vulnerability management tools.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring and incident response tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Capacity for quick learning and efficient work practices.
