Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a skilled System Safety Engineer to join our team of professionals in Advanced Weapons. As an integral part of our multi-discipline engineering team, you will be on the forefront of developing next-generation solutions to protect technology for our nation's warfighter.

About the Role

This position will require close collaboration with team members of other projects within the organization for security architecture designs as well as external partners and customers. We are looking for a collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented individual with a focus on team empowerment and shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of automation.

Key Responsibilities
  • System safety analysis of military weapon systems
  • Participation in risk assessments/resolution and mishap investigations
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field with 5 years of experience or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field with 3 years of experience
  • Familiarity with electrical circuit design and application of MIL-STD-882E
  • Experience documenting hazards with a closed-loop Hazard Tracking System (HTS)
  • Ability to develop, review, update, and approve system safety artifacts and system safety requirements
Preferred Qualifications

A strong working knowledge of military system safety and process standards, including MIL-STD-882, RCC 319, AFSPCMAN 91-710, ASTM, ANSI, NEC, AFOSH, AOP-52, JOTP-051, PESHE, NFPA would be beneficial. Additionally, active DoD Security Clearance (investigation completed within last 5 years) is preferred.

Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $107,300 - $160,900 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
