Job Summary

Harbor Retirement Associates is seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Chef to lead our culinary team in providing exceptional dining experiences for our residents. As a key member of our management team, the Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food service operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Develop and implement weekly menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents, while ensuring quality and presentation standards.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels, manage food costs, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train food service staff, including cooks, servers, and kitchen assistants, to ensure they are meeting company standards and providing excellent customer service.
  • Culinary Operations: Oversee the preparation and presentation of all meals, ensuring they are served hot, fresh, and visually appealing.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure food safety, sanitation, and quality standards are met.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, including HACCP and OSHA standards.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and staff to ensure their needs are met and concerns are addressed.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Certifications: Valid state certification as a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) required.
  • Experience: Minimum one year experience as a chef/cook and one year experience in supervision or management.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and knowledge of food safety regulations.
