We are currently seeking an Experienced Automotive Service Technician to enhance our team. This role is an opportunity to elevate your career.

Job Overview:

The Experienced Technician is tasked with performing diagnostics and repairs across various automotive systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute tasks as detailed on repair orders with precision and efficiency, adhering to dealership and manufacturer standards.
  • Identify the root cause of malfunctions and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Coordinate with the parts department to secure required components.
  • Tag and save parts for warranty purposes or upon customer request.
  • Inspect assigned vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is needed.
  • Communicate promptly with the Service Writer regarding any additional work required, unnecessary work, or if repairs cannot be completed on time.
  • Document all performed and recommended work on the repair order.
  • Conduct road tests on vehicles as necessary.
  • Engage in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and events.
  • Stay updated on manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Oversee the work of any Entry-Level Service Technicians as assigned.
  • Report any machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Ensure that customer vehicles are maintained in a clean condition and report any changes in appearance or condition to the Service Advisor.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized shop area.
  • Be responsible for all dealership-owned tools and manuals, ensuring they are returned in their original condition.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal and safety requirements.
  • Operate all tools and equipment safely.
  • Immediately report any safety concerns to management.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty effectively. The following qualifications are essential:

  • Technical or trade school degree is required.
  • Experience with Toyota vehicles is essential.
  • Technical aptitude, preferably demonstrated through ASE certification.
  • Ability to work on and repair various makes of vehicles.
  • Proficiency in operating a wide range of vehicles, including both automatic and manual transmissions.
  • Manual dexterity, sound judgment, and the ability to operate power and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Capability to work successfully under a flat-rate pay system.
  • Willingness to travel for relevant training courses.
  • A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required for occasional travel and essential job functions.
