We are seeking a skilled Construction Materials Technician to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our engineering and sciences services team, you will be responsible for performing quality control testing and inspection services for various building construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct quality control testing at project sites, including concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate, and reinforcing steel.
- Inspect construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans, and/or proposals and bridge projects.
- Verify plan quantities and calculations with as-bid plans, prepare and maintain project records and reports, and perform other duties as assigned by the Project Engineer.
- Notify the Contractor or the Project Engineer with status updates or about non-conforming work.
- Prepare and maintain project records and reports and perform other duties as assigned by the Project Engineer in a timely manner.
- Relevant construction experience (i.e., concrete, masonry, earthwork, labor, etc.)
- Relevant degree (i.e., geology, earth science, civil engineering, construction management, etc.)
- Candidates with prior CMT experience/certifications will be considered
- ACI, Nuclear Gauge, NICET, NETTCP
- Strong report writing and field note-taking skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders
- Willingness to travel and work long hours when required
- Willingness to work outdoors on job sites year-round
